If it was me, I would bag up all that into plastic bags and let it sit in the toasty summer sun for months to kill off worms and eggs.

This is what my Nana used to do. Unfortunately you won't be able to completely get rid of them but by doing this you can at least keep the currrent population at bay. Mustard drench: Mix 1/3 cup of yellow mustard powder into 1 gallon of water. Pour it slowly over a small section of soil. This irritates the worms and forces them to the surface without hurting most plants. Hand-picking: Collect the worms into a container, kill and dispose: Place the collected worms into a sealed plastic bag. Leave the bag out in direct sun for at least 10 to 20 minutes before throwing it in the trash. Treating Soil and Cocoons Solarization: Cover damp, infested soil or compost piles with clear polyethylene plastic sheets during hot summer months. Heat thresholds: Secure the edges of the plastic and leave it for 2 to 3 weeks until the soil temperature underneath reaches over 104°F for a minimum of three consecutive days to kill the microscopic cocoons.

You need a few ducks!! All natural organic pest control, worms are their favorite and they will dig for them. Bonus their poop is comsider cold compost and can be directly added to your beds for fertilizer

Buy a few chickens and leash them to a pole in the center of your yard a few hours a day. They will eat those suckers right up.

My buddy who owns a tree business said never to take chips from tree companies because 80% of them are from diseased trees. They should really disclose that info. Can you use any type of organic method? Would dicatmous earth work I wonder?

Cover the pile with a big sheet of clear plastic, and seal the edges with dirt. As long as the sun is shining, the temp should rise enough in the pile to kill them. Won't get rid of the ones in the rest of the yard, but can help cut down on new ones you spread around. Mustard power in water also works well apparently, but I've never tried it.

My mother kills all worms she sees, now. Puts them in a bucket of soapy water. Sad stuff. They are ubiquitous. I believe most earth worms are not native to New England

Stop taking wood chips directly from arborists/tree cutters. This is the reason we aren’t supposed to sell them. Buy mulch from a regulated supplier.
