@simonakeroydgardener: This is the easiest (and laziest way) to feed your plants with a natural fertiliser. After you finish eating your banana simply place the banana skin on the surface of the compost. It will gradually decompose and the nutrients will breakdown into the compost. Banana skin contains lots of nutrients including potassium, phosphorus calcium and magnesium. Banana skins will breakdown quicker if you break them up into smaller pieces. Burying them will also resulting in faster decomposition, and means they reach the roots faster.
