This is something that happens a lot to autistic people: the employee explains to their manager that they have a communication disability, so we will occasionally misinterpret each other. Eventually, their manager puts them on a PIP requiring that autistic person ask for clarification when they misunderstand something. In other words, don’t have a communication disability. Is this kind of thing allowed??
