@theclandestinemagazine: Literature opens an infinite sense of possibility around an object; a photograph limits the infinity of a landscape to a single vision. In the fire of youth, it seems we have so much to say. We don’t want to limit our imagination to the observable world, to the world we inherited. Perhaps that is why we fall in love with the verb before we fall in love with the lens. But we grow older, and begin to understand that our identity is shaped less by what we invent in our heads than by what we learn to recognize as beautiful—and as ugly. That realization inevitably changes our relationship with literature, too. But today, we celebrate photography and the revolution it brought to the human experience. For us, photography means freezing a moment of space-time. Giving our gaze to something universal. Showing the beauty already arranged within a territory, and allowing our journey to resonate with others, just as the journeys of others have resonated with us. It is about registering the magic of a sunset. What does photography mean in your life?
