As an indigenous Tejano, this is a raging debate here in the state. Our animal shelters are at capacity & we have a major overpopulation issue due to irresponsible animal owners letting their animals roam free, without first “fixing” them. We need a cultural shift towards animal ownership responsibility, massive fees for abandoning, allowing free roaming & or not spaying & neutering pets, otherwise, euthanasia might be the next option.

I live in Delaware and worked in shelter vet med and we would get dogs from Texas all the time and I will never forget the 20+ dogs they sent us with parvo. I watched most of them die. Why does Texas have so many animals they need to ship to other states anyway? What's going on down there?

I don’t understand how anyone lives in that state. It’s toxic AF.
