Even worse? One night my retired mom wasn’t replying to my text or answering my calls. A few hours later at 1:00am, I checked her Apple Find My and it showed her phone was in a big empty field next to some kind of refinery. Flipped the f out and drove all the way out to her area. Then Apple decides to show me her correct location, 15 miles away, at her friend’s house where she was spending the night.

Google Maps ftw, it was my hobby fixing numbers, hours, roads, rivers, parks, names, geography etc back in 2013-2016 when it was all community based through Google Maps Maker so it was real locals like me making sure your maps and roads were correct

it’ll take you on a route where you have to make multiple left turns onto busy roads with no stoplights and then proceed to direct you down 6 blocks just to find an intersection where you can make a legal U-Turn

i was coming from the valley to dtla at like 3am and forgot to check where apple maps was taking me, i ended up needing to do like 4 completely unnecessary interchanges and i stg i almost cried i was so tired and unprepared
