The thing people don't realizing is that covering the head and body was a modesty standard all over the world, not just in Muslim countries. French and English gable hoods, Greek and Roman women would wear veilss that wrapped around the head and body, Russian kokoshnik, Indian dupatta and veiling techniques and many many more.
