Look at the diversity in the audience vs. the diversity on stage. It’s important for the youth to be encouraged that they can see themselves in the beautiful and transformative art presented on stage. This is why representation matters.

Seeing my first ballet was such a memorable day from my childhood. I was so amazed. I have so much respect for these people and I’m sure these children will remember these experiences.

So important for kids to experience all of this! When we went to school trips to the orchestra and high school trips to theater shows it made such a difference for me as someone whose parents definitely could not Willy nilly afford it then!

This made me so emotional and reminded me of my childhood in NYC. People forget that although NYC is a city full of culture and amazing shows, most of its residents can’t afford to enjoy it. For many of these kids, this might be the only time they will enjoy something like this.
