yall might like working front desk at a car dealership better bc literally all I do is transfer calls to the right department the only thing is that sometimes there are more callers than employees on hand so I get the butt end of their anger when nobody is there to help the

all the reception in my office got pulled for a mandatory meeting (including me) and we heard all about it after....we left them alone for 45 minutes. we came back to this HUGE teams thread of nurses confused and they didn't know what to do or how to collect co pays, print appointments, consent forms etc. it was quite comical to me but one of the nurses was like "let this be a reminder we cannot survive without our reception" it was nice to feel appreciated ✨

I had a patient call raising his voice at me telling me I better not ever check his wife’s insurance again that I should take his word for it that she’s covered. I explained it’s my job to check insurance and I do it for everyone. He said I don’t care from now on you take my word for it you understand me?! What do you even do about people like that

It’s something about front end that customers/patients/users see differently. People see you as less than, but the moment u meet their energy youre the bad guy but when they meet the back end things are different. Never makes sense to me

I have to do the front then triage, sometimes they are so mean and when I call them up they have this surprised look on their face and will ask me “oh you’re the one taking me back😳” like yes 🥲
