once diagnosed with fibro my gp blamed everything on it and didnt listen. Turned out I had multiple sclerosis as well.

I got diagnosed with fibro when I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, even with a positive HLA B27 and father having it. Thankfully I'm on anti tnf meds now. I also have Heds.

They only ruled out rheumatoid arthritis and lupus before they slapped me with a fibromyalgia diagnosis when I was 18. Now I’m almost 26 and have just recently gone to a chiropractor as a last ditch effort and he was the first medical professional that asked if any of the previous doctors I’ve seen had mentioned hyper mobility.

last gp just said it was fibro and wouldnt look into anything else and now im in pain daily but have had burning pain in my hips but i was bending when youger and my kids have hypermobility

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 years ago, and diagnosed with hEDS two months ago. It explains so, SO many things that fibro alone doesn’t. My MSK pain specialist told me it is possible to have both conditions as co-morbidities, but I always had a feeling there would be something else the doctors would find I have because I have a ridiculous amount of symptoms that either aren’t covered by my pre-existing diagnoses (like how my knee dislocates on a daily basis) or are commonly co-morbid with hEDS for example I also have POTS

Can someone clear something up for me if I have Ankylosing spondylitis does that not mean you don’t have fibromyalgia? I also have hEDS but I think that means I was being lead astray when one former dr started insisting my joint pain is caused by fibromyalgia and that she is then misdiagnosing me.

I see hEDS everywhere these days? Where was this 15-25 yrs ago when I was going to a dozen drs to find out what is wrong with me? Or anything you just mentioned? I always felt just pushed off and when they couldn’t find something on labs or standard tests they just tossed out Fibro/ME/CFS and Myofacial Pain Syndrome at me as “we don’t really know” lol smh 🤦🏻♀️Now I’m stuck with them.
