If I was ever to have a crotch goblin, I would be at a birthing center that is VETTED and has every certification under the sun. Being afraid of something happening is top 3 reasons I don’t want a kid

whats the difference between a midwife at home and a midwife at a birth center? both have to transfer to a hospital if things become out of scope for the midwife

My opinion is that we more options for folks across the board. I had 3 CNM, a doula, and 2 friends and my partner at my home birth. It was beautiful. AND I specifically worked with folks who very loudly told us that they would transfer us out of their care if we became high risk during our pregnancy.

as someone who works in l&d so much stuff goes wrong and like anything can happen, i would rather it just happen in the hospital. i do agree though it definitely should be separate from hospitals 😅

[lawyer here bc ppl always wanna complain when you KNOW Jamila is right] Ppl saying there’s lack of access to birth centers. Two things y’all 1. The states intentionally create legal barriers to them existing. It’s easy to shut down a facility it’s much harder to stop ppl from going house to house delivering babies. 2. If you’re going to SUE if you or your baby dies or get a permanent injury you NEED to be IN a hospital. Doctors have big policies, hospitals have even BIGGER policies and deeper pockets. If you gonna take death or permanent injury on the chin and call it a day then go ahead otherwise birth centers this hospital. Y’all take life and a healthy baby for granted and it shows.
