Sadly this ole girl is now grounded they found cracks in the frame and she’s now being used for parts I live in Fairbanks and a buddy of mine works at everts 😢

We used to rip out of prudhoe bay in a Phase 3 whiteout, banking hard right into a 60 mph screaming wind. This is light work.

navy we called them C118 and 4 R2800-52W ... dual row, 9 cylinders per row, high low super charger. and Water menthol injection... I loved building the engine to QEC ....

since the plane “just took off” but the landing gear is already up before the bank makes this unlikely. BTI is a long runway so they could have been off the deck for a long time by this point and pulled the gear up already.
