Our Pergola from day to night ✨ I absolutely love our pergola, it’s such a gorgeous feature all year round. We built ours for £500, I’ve popped the details below if you fancied giving it a go! Materials used (for a 3mx3m corner pergola) - x3 150x150mm 2.4m Treated Posts - x3 Post Anchors - Concreted in - x7 47x150mm Treated C24 Timber - 6m lengths - x40 25x50mm Treated Roof Batten - 3.6m lengths - 8x100mm Coach Screws - 5x100mm Outdoor Screws - 4.2x65mm Decking Screws Tools Used: - 6ft Level - Tape Measure - Square - Handsaw, Circular Saw & Mitre Saw - Battery Drill/Screwdriver - Multitool or Chisels - String Line - Post Shovel Steps: 1. Sketch you area on lined paper, this will enable you to scale the timbers dimensions and make sure you have enough materials for your area. Then mark out the area and dig the post holes. 2. Concrete in the post anchors, or build a pad to drill them into. You can just postcrete in longer posts but they’ll need protecting from rot! 3. Level and brace for the posts and fix them into the anchors. Cut them down to size if needed. 4. Notch a small 45degree angle into the front posts to support the long side roof timber and provide a flat face to screw into. 5. Screw the back sides of the roof into the posts. 6. Mark the centre of the roof and rest your first roof timber in position. Mark the angles from underneath. 7. Notch out the roof timbers and cut out them out with a saw and multitool. Cut a angle on the nose if desired. 8. Slide the roof timber into place and repeat! 9. Batten the back starting from the top down. Use a piece of batten on its side as a spacer. Brace the batten in the middle to keep a uniform gap and avoid it warping too much. 10. We also added a timber shelf at the bottom of the batten using roof timber to hold plants and wine 🍷 All in this came to around £500 in materials and took a couple of days to build. We’re really happy with the result as it provides a cosy outdoor living area and the battened sides provide a great privacy screen from neighbouring houses. #diycornerpergola #cornerpergola #pergola #diypergola #diygardenprojects gardeninspo porcelainslabs ukgarden ukgardeninspo
