im gonna recommend boots, personally. Nothing against all the loafer recs, because they DO have a place, but man, they all just look like yuppie boat shoes lol. Dress Boots are frequently made to be very comfortable and can also be fashionable, but also lean into a refined casual or even business level look. aside from that, im mote a fan of tassel or even horsebit loafers if we want something thats lower cut so it feels more similar to what he's already familiar with.

dude. White Airforce 1s. genuinely i feel like they deserve the hype. They can be casual, very very casual, but at the same time they can make you seem like not professional but like put together. jsut keep them clean

IMO the one exception to the hybrid sneakers is loafers, since they were inherently designed as a causal shoe to begin with. Something like these Allen Edmond Randolph sneakers are fine, and for a guy who's used to running shoes probably a better transition than a traditional loafer (IMO the Weejuns aren't comfortable and neither are most brands at that price, you need to spend more or go for something niche like Blkbrd
