If you can drink an entire bottle of this, you get your photo on the wall." "We're not doing that." "Obviously not. You'd die." "I meant you're not doing that." Lisa gasped dramatically. "You doubt my spice tolerance?" "I doubt your survival skills. You cried eating pepperoni last week." "It was spicy pepperoni!" "It was regular pepperoni." "It had a kick!" Jennie sighed, pushing the cart forward. "We're leaving this aisle." Lisa followed, grumbling. "You never let me have any fun." "I let you have plenty of fun. Jennie stopped in the produce section, trying to focus on buying actual food. Lisa wandered off, and Jennie didn't notice until she heard a familiar voice over the intercom. "Attention shoppers. She abandoned the cart and ran toward customer service, where Lisa was standing with the intercom phone, grinning. "What do you think?" Lisa asked. "I think I'm going to punish you." Jennie stepped closer, her voice dropping low. "When we get home, you'll find out." Lisa's breath hitched. "Is that a promise?" "It's a guarantee." A store manager appeared, looking panicked. "Ladies! Please, I'm going to have to ask you to—" "She's leaving," Jennie said smoothly, grabbing Lisa's wrist. "Right now." She pulled Lisa toward the checkout, ignoring her protests. They paid quickly—Jennie's card, naturally—and headed to the car in tense silence. The moment the doors closed, Lisa spoke. "You're not really mad, are you?" "I'm not mad." "Then why are you gripping the steering wheel like that?" Jennie turned to her, eyes dark. "Because I'm trying very hard not to pull over and deal with you right here." Lisa's mouth went dry. "Oh."
