@news.com.au: Senator Pauline Hanson and One Nation are calling for first-home buyers to be allowed to use their retirement savings for a property deposit, and arguing that compulsory super rules should be loosened to help with cost-of-living pressure. While supporters see it as a lifeline to get onto the property ladder, critics and economic experts warn that draining super could drive house prices higher and leave people with less for retirement. #superannuation #paulinehanson #mortgage #compulsorysuper #housing
So prices go up and you have no savings. Great plan 👍

No, it's absolutely incompetent to do that, as we have to rely on this to retire.

no, that's literally the dumbest policy I've ever seen in a long while, not only will the unlocking of all that super add fuel to the fire of rising house prices it has the double whammy of destroying millions of people's retirement blasting up debt even further as now the government would have to pay millions of people's retirement directly instead of through super.

Absolutely not. That’s hundreds of thousands of dollars less at retirement and more reliance on the aged pension. No thank you! It seems superannuation literacy is extremely low in Australia…
