@eyedropshop: A few things every scleral lens wearer should know: 🧼 Wash and completely dry your hands before handling your lenses. 💧 Fill your scleral lenses only with the preservative-free sterile solution recommended by your eye care professional before insertion. 🚰 Never use tap water on your lenses. Water can contain microorganisms that you do not want anywhere near your eyes. 🫧 Clean and disinfect your lenses after wear using the lens care system recommended for your specific lenses. ✨ Protein, oils, makeup, and other deposits can build up on scleral lenses over time. Proper cleaning helps maintain a clear, comfortable lens surface. 🧴 Never substitute saline for disinfecting solution. Filling and disinfecting are two different steps. 📦 Keep your lens case and insertion tools clean and replace them according to your eye care professional’s recommendations. 👁️ Follow your recommended wearing schedule and attend your follow-up appointments so your eye doctor can check the fit, your cornea, and the health of your ocular surface. And remember, scleral lens care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Different lenses and cleaning systems can have different instructions, so always follow the routine prescribed for your specific lenses. Clean lens. Happy eyes. 👁️💙 #ScleralLenses #Optometrist #ContactLensCare #DryEye #EyeHealth

Marina Francis :
I started wearing scleral lenses recently for dry eye and I’m only 23, can I wear these comfortably for the foreseeable future? Are most people with them able to stay employed?

The 6 hour rule thing only applies if you’re using clear care? If I’m currently using tangible clean, can I apply them right after I get out of the pool?
