As a Moroccan who is extremely critical of its government and will hop on every (rigjtfull) hate train regarding my country, i have to say you are completely wrong on this one😭😭😭 Morocco is simply just mediating the negotiations to which Mali and Niger for example are thankful for even. I get that its weird to hear Morocco help release these inteligence agents, especially since a Malian or Moroccan intelligence agent in France would be arrested and reduced to a terrorist. The reason Morocco is doing this is quite simple, starting off with that fact that Morocco (as yall realized) is doing France a favor by mediating these negotiations leading to France being in dept to Morocco (periodt i guess). Furthermore not many nations have diplomatic ties with these countries, for as far as i know Morocco is one of the only regional options with diplomatic ties with both the Sahel region as with France, thus being the only one even capable of mediating the two countries. I have to say you are leaning to much into speculation and this video in general is quite misleading. Also it is sooooo normal in international relations for countries to convict foreigners and then trade them back through pardons, prisoner swaps and expulsions, China, US, and Iran all do this for example. And it is then also normal for a country thats cordial with both countries to mediate these negotiations. If anything Mali’s point probably never was to actually imprison him but just to simply convey a message to the (western) world. If you want people to hate my country that bad at least have it be for the right reasons😭😭😭

I don’t understand why people are mad at Morocco, if powerful nations such as France and Qatar can not influence Mali and Burkina Faso, what makes you think Morocco can? There’s clearly much more then meets the eye and we have no idea why Morocco can influence these countries more than more powerful ones. Clearly there’s a mutual benefit here.

Idk why all the hate is towards Morocco when we literally have nothing to do with the story, the deals were struck between Mali and Burkina Fasu and France on the other side, Morocco was just a channel for communication, which literally happens all the time in international diplomacy where 3rd countries help to facilitate communication.
