I promise you having 100,000 of these is better than 10,000 trucks. The trucks still double park in bike lanes and traffic lanes so this is literally the better alternative. Plus this forces the city to redevelop/develop new bike infrastructure. Look at what they did to 34th Ave in Jackson Heights, they made it a 1.3 mile bike highway with limited to no vehicle traffic.

these aren't really an issue but if there were to be something done about it then it should be that the lanes should be split in 2 .one larger cargo/normal bikes to use together and a smaller lane for just normal bikes.

bi.. cycle shortened to bike. 2 wheels, and powered by legs cycling. it does neither. 4 wheel vehicle, nothing to do with "bike"

there are solutions to this. the first being to require any commercial bike to be registered and insured to protect the cargo on board. secondly, I'd argue these are still a net positive compared to the equivalent delivery vehicles that would replace them.

The thing is, cargo bikes already exist and are widely used in cities with good bike infrastructure. They should just ban these and make them use cargo bikes.

genuinely a non issue, literally just wait to pass them when it's safe to do so, it would be insane for a motorist to complain about delivery vans taking up a lane of traffic and being forced to wait for them to let you pass
