@learncctv: Do you offer your clients a maintenance contract? If not — why not? You’re leaving recurring revenue on the table, and your client’s system is quietly degrading the day after you leave site. Lenses get dirty, firmware goes unpatched, hard drives fail silently, cameras drift out of focus. A maintenance contract isn’t an upsell. It’s the difference between being a fitter and being a security partner. Drop a comment — do you run contracts, or is it one-and-done for you? #RoomSecured #LearnCCTV #CCTV #SecurityInstaller #MaintenanceContract
I charge £150 for a silver contract, free call out during the day but parts are charged. I also charge a higher fee for gold, which has parts included (priced a year)

Yes we find that people who are serious about their security systems will want us to come out and service their systems. Yes not every customer will want it but those that do are usually very conscientious about having maintenance carried out because they understand that system isn’t maintained & working is no better at times than a system that doesn’t work at all. Also install work is really hard graft at times to leave a really tidy job particularly in domestic so having a mixture of install and service / maintenance helps with work flow so that you are not on turbo mode every day of the week 😅 lol

Yes, I subcontract work from a medium sized company in the Midlands, they have ongoing contracts of over 20k month. From what I understand that's where the money is right now in this industry. From installs are very little money left because of fierce competition. Myself with my private jobs I got only 3 big systems that I installed and I go and service them yearly, but there is no contract, just a verbal agreement. But again, I mainly subcontract.
