Good advice, but providing an out isn't the whole answer. "I'm sure you want to leave" is very different to "If you have to head out, lmk if you want to make other plans". Either positive or negative, the issue is forcing an expectation on someone else. Projecting self pity is just as bad as entitlement. Both are types of pressure.

As a large man, I have definitely calibrated to try to offer as many polite ways out of interaction as possible particularly to women. This is just an extension of avoiding creepy flirtatious approaches and similar impressions, but the moral to me has always been that the more external/social power you bring to any conversation, the more you tend to naturally unbalance it, that much more you have to try to equalize to let the other person feel comfortable. And that is unfortunate, and it is not your fault, but it is the nature of the interaction, in the same way that you just have to exert more care moving through the world as someone who is massive and/or strong.
