The gospel is NOT: Your commitment to God. Turning your life around. Keeping the commandments. Getting baptized. Going to church. Doing good works. Becoming a better person. Those things are not the gospel. The gospel is news, not a list of instructions. Christ died for our sins. He was buried. He rose again. 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 And the question becomes: how do you receive the salvation He accomplished? “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31 The gospel isn’t what you do for God. It’s what God has done for you through Jesus Christ.
