Whenever this topic is brought up, you’ll see loads of men retort, “Well if sex is not on the table 24/7, then me paying the bills isn’t on the table then. U wanna act like room mates, we gonna be room mates. 😏” Esp on Facebook. It’s horrifying how many of them are transactional & basically treat the woman they supposedly love like a smex worker, who’s supposed to deliver that service because in their minds they have “paid” for it, via paying the bills & by committing to them in a relationship/ marriage.

I got dressed in the bathroom or the closet because he said I was sending mixed signals when I did that. I also had to be mindful of what I wore to bed. Even if I was in sweats and laying there like a rock, he’d still come at me.

when you're in a relationship with someone like this what are the first signs? I used to have a roommate when I was 19 that used to pout when he didn't get sex from his girlfriend, that's the same thing right? I also consider the fact she was young and probably didn't understand but isn't that a form of guilting someone into the ACT as well. the fact that it's 20 years later and things like this are just coming to light in conversations people are now comfortable to have it's still so horrifying. she used to thank us for kicking him out and allowing her time to save and move back with her parents. she never expressed the details but she is still always thankful even now.

The amount of cuddles, kisses, and compliments I receive from my husband daily, without any expectations attached, is something I'm endlessly grateful for.... which is actually pretty sad because that really is the bare minimum, but it's not very common to find. The bar for men's behavior really is resting on the bedrock of hell, and yet so many of them still argue for being allowed to bring a shovel.
