I don't thin she ment it to be mean or unkind. Queen Victoria was woman of harsh and honest opinions about everything and she didn't feard sharing it. If she was thinking something was (...) than she was saying it loudly. She was blunt not mean. And she didn't really called tham ugly. Just not pretty. That's not ugly. Just opinion of her own that she doesn't think her daughters were great beauties, extraordinary or something like that. That doesn't nesesery meant she was calling or thinking tham ugly. She didn't seen herself as beautiful neither. Just common.

I don’t think Queen Victoria was jealous of her daughters; I think she wanted to love her children, but due to the experiences she went through in her life probably made her become distant from trying to form connections with them; because she was abused by her mother and Sir John Conroy, raised under the The Kensington System. Victoria didn’t have the childhood every person should have in life. So I don’t think she was anyone mean, I think she just doesn’t know how to form relationships with her children like her husband Albert did.
