1) You calculated taxes wrong 2) working at home doesn’t mean you don’t need daycare 3) why is parking and commute $6k if you’re already paying more rent to be downtown? 4) are you skipping lunch at home? So much wrong with this

You calculated you taxes wrong. The taxes owed on $240000 is $53863. that's off by almost 40k.

Pretty sure the taxes are wrong. Taxes aren’t a flat 39%. They’re progressive so you’re only taxed the higher rate in there money over the threshold.

The tax rate for people making over $626k is 37% and that’s only for everything OVER the $626k amount. He tries to say taxes for $240k is 39%?! Nah. He TRIPLED the taxes on the $240k. That’s stupid. 😐 everything else in the video just lost all credibility after that😐

This makes no sense haha. You still have to pay for all those things even if you work remote… your rent doesn’t disappear just because you work from home. Yes gas is a little cheaper because you’re not commuting, but that’s it. Most companies do not subsidize utilities/home office space. Mine will give us a stipend to buy like a desk and chair if we need it, but that’s it. And even if you work from home, you’re likely still paying for some form of child care if your kids are young because you need to still work during the day. I’d argue the TIME you save is extremely valuable. But this is WILDLY inaccurate 😂

And when ur working from home you still have to pay for rent so why doesn’t the 120k reflect the rent ur already paying

You’re including lunch in one but not the other even though you still eat lunch. You’re including Internet when you’ll likely have Internet either way.

this is a wild take and the taxes are not making sense. need to give more information on state, tax deductions especially if you are adding kids, federal taxes are tiered and not a flat tax on total income.

Wardrobe dont apply to tech bros, if u take the train and work pays for its free (common perk), and rent cost is overestimated it should be just savings vs a further away apt. So the savings overestimated 20k

This breakdown is very misleading. 39% tax bracket is marginal not flat rate. People working from home still pay rent, they still need to eat and drink coffee. If they ever have a zoom call they still need work attire.
