i never even realized that my husband ALWAYS does number 3 until now. we go on movie dates a lot and if one seat is next to another person and the other isn’t, he always lets me have the one with an empty seat beside it.

Pro tip for flights. Be sure to take both aisle seats that way you can get up comfortably and neither of you have to be stuck with a middle seat
