As long as no one throws it across the rooms into someone else’s head when they are not regulated, I can see how this might work well

Sour candies are also helpful! Zotz have been my go-to.

Maybe this is why my son LOVES getting ice out of our freezer! Will definitely try an ice pack.

Do you have research backed studies that support this? Would be helpful to support getting a mini-fridge in my class 😏

I’m an autistic OT with ADHD and sensory processing differences. Ice packs and cool wash clothes help me regulate sooooo much!! If you don’t have access to ice, running your wrists under cool water will help!

As a school counselor, I use a baggie of ice all the time. The baggie lets them also fidget with the cubes while calming down

This is so cool and no shade at all in this question but are you a bcba? Or are you working under one? You seem well educated on behaviorists principles and I’m just curious about how haha

YES! My son is almost two and a half, and went he's just really emotional and I don't know what's wrong, I give him a frozen wash cloth to chew on. Works like a charm every single time 💅✨

What would you recommend for a student that is self harming while disregulated? We’ve tried making him a video to help him learn new calming techniques but wasn’t helping.

I use headache ice caps for my migraines, I keep them in the fridge because the freezer is too cold for me but I noticed it was very much helping my overstimulation so I started offering them to my children when they are overwhelmed and it has helped so much they ask for them now when they feel it themselves. I could see these being helpful for you as well
