I said I love you to a patient once. I was sooo tired. They looked at me and started to cry. They had no one and said me telling them I loved them made them want to live. Some times we don’t know why things happen the way they do. But they happen for a reason.

On the flip side, my mom has worked in the parts customer/vendor service department of a company for decades. We sat down to dinner one night growing up, all folded our hands to pray, and my mom closed her eyes to start. Instead of praying, she goes "Parts Department, this is Julie." 😂

I called a patient one time. her vm picked up and I totally forgot why I called so I just went idk miss Cheryl idk why I called you maybe you know . call me back. she called me back laughing. she still has the voicemail. I called her at least 1-2 times a week and I just couldn't remember why that time I was calling her. we were moving her appointment 🤦🏻♀️

I used to work as a CNA once upon a time, and a patient family called and I accidentally said, "ok, love you, bye" at the end of the call. This was 14 years ago and I still remember it. 😅

I talk to text a lot! The other day I left a voicemail and said “lol” as well as all the verbal end punctuation. Example “how was your day question mark” the voicemail was a couple minutes long 🤦🏼♀️I didn’t realize that I did that until after I hung up

I roomed patients for a family practice doctor during flu season. I was exhausted. I went to call the next patient from the lobby, threw the door open and called my o.w.n name…and waited.
