@anthonysdigitalera: Has anyone else gone from their 'climb the corporate ladder' era straight into not wanting to work at all (or seriously considered filling shelves at Rual King)? #DailyGrind #LifeChange #NewJourney #FinancialFreedom #bluecollar

Covid pushed me over the edge. I was a finance director for a large auto group and paid very well. My kids hardly knew me as I was always at work. Then Covid hit and it struck a nerve and I quit, sold everything, bought a small farm. Now I’m basically poor with a farm but I see my kids and spend time with them daily, so I’m the richest man alive in my eyes.

I drive down the highway and see the guy on a tractor cutting the grass and realize I'd like to do that job.

Not exactly climb the corporate ladder but wanted to be one of the "top guys" as they're referred to at my job. Nope. Don't care anymore. Over it. Loyalty is not rewarded

Yes at 57 I have no reasoning to peruse a career any longer. No enthusiasm. No motivation. No interest whatsoever. You are not alone.

I climbed the ladder. Got there. Didn’t like the view so I left. It’s not worth it.

Went from a journeyman painter to Greenskeeping at a golf course and in turf management. Cutting grass just brings me peace. Do I make as much as I used too? No, but is my mental health better for it. YES.

I went to work for a small company in 2014 that has since been sold to a large corporation. I tell my wife all the time if it burns down tomorrow I would go buy some marshmallows to make smores and watch it burn . Big corporations have destroyed the economy

Yes, my husband left his 25 year law enforcement career to start our own business last year because he just couldn’t do it anymore. We’re struggling but we’re making it and his mental health is drastically different now than it was a year ago!

I worked my way to the tip of the top. (fuel construction) my company depended on me to save the day every day and paid me well to do it. Kept me far away from my kids. I lost sight of why I was really out there busting ass over the years. everything was an emergency. I lost the love of my elder daughters, never had it maybe. I was home 2 days a month their whole lives. made it to the top but was the worst choice I ever made. we are only here a little while. I'm comparativly poor now, I chase my adult kids for a relationship with them and my grandkids. My days are more fulfilling tho. I work for a charity, I donate time to help disabled children and adults by running a program for disabled in the comunity. we put on plays and go on outings, dances, bowling, swim parties ect. you have never seen such joy. I get to dress as Santa at Christmas. Ive also had a second batch of kids I am present for.😉 Dont let the grind steal your life.

I worked sticking groceries overnight at Albertsons back in the late 90's. it was the lowest paying job I ever had, but it was the one I had the most fun at.
