There seems to be this mentality that the worst outcome imaginable is that a person dies.... Death could be the end of suffering for some people. Having to live the rest of your life with the trauma can be an awful outcome for the victims (and never seems to be taken into account when sentencing is decided)

I was just looking up the case of Lee Milne from Dundee 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 who was found guilty of and jailed for causing his wife’s self-deletion (I couldn’t remember his name)… but the first result was another man (Ryan Wellings) who was found guilty of coercive control, but cleared of manslaughter after his partner self-deleted. 😩
