I worked in a diesel shop and the male boss tried to tell me I was required to wear makeup because I worked the counter. I did the most god awful drag queen esque makeup EVER the next day and he quickly told me that it was ok if I didn’t wear makeup 😂💀 his exact words actually “is that you always do your makeup?” And I said “well yeah what’s the point of doing it if you don’t notice it?!”

Ladies, if this ever happens to you simply ask if the men are expected to wear makeup. Likely they will end the call right then but if they answer “no” simply ask “are there any other employment conditions that differ between men and women?” etc. then sue their asses to infinity and beyond

As a girly who doesn’t wear make up this bothered my soul because I wish someone would!!! Then I don’t even know how to apply to make matters worst.😅 The way I would have just disconnected and rolled my eyes; like yall me to do a JOB.

I run my Dad's company with the title of President. I go to work in leggings and a T-shirt most days and take virtual calls that way. If I have an in-person meeting, I might do my hair a bit, but I never wear makeup. I present professional, therefore I am professional. I find this incredibly insulting and absolutely wild. You always look amazing. Next time, answer when you have the blanket around your head 😂

I was the girlie who spent hours doing my makeup and hair. I became a mom and I am currently in treatment for cancer. My boss wanted to FaceTime and when the camera came on… I was like don’t get scared and he started laughing and said he’d be more worried if I had makeup on because then I’d be interviewing! 😂 I’m glad you left

I worked for a large makeup retailer and they literally stopped requiring sales associates to wear makeup because they realized it was a discriminatory policy, as male employees didn't have to wear makeup. If the people literally selling makeup can figure it out, why can't the corporate world?
