I was waiting for your opinion on this! Genuine question on the colorism thing, I may be way off base, but from what I've seen in the first appearances of John, he was depicted as lighter skinned compared to his later iterations? Was he created dark-skinned and depicted incorrectly?

I don't think it's embarrassment with multiple iterations of these characters on screen creators will be compelled to do something different and with a 2006 Green lantern movie and Guardians of the Galaxy existing it was always going to be this way. look at all the changes they made with MCU Spider-Man and and we're not going to get magneto and wolverine the MCU X-Men movie. wonder why?

I liked the first episode. I think he’s going to end up earning his ring directly from the Guardians after going through a lot of trials and tribulations trying to solve Hal’s murder. I feel like that journey will also give them enough time to flesh John out and make him a really likable character
