Everything you're saying and feeling makes perfect sense. It's only natural. I changed my perspective after a major loss...she is part of you, she will always be with you in that way but she is also "out there" all around you. Keeping playing, keep performing and watch for the little signs (they do come along!) that affirms that she's listening and still having as much pride in you as ever. Give it your all...and she will hear you.

im a musician in la and originally from nyc. idk how this appeared on my timeline but I can relate to this a lot. In a way I feel like a big reason I made music is gone. sharing what I made with my mom and hearing her thoughts was more rewarding than everyone's and now that's gone. she died fourteen months ago and i've been learning how to motivate myself in new ways but it's a slow process.
