@theoregonian: When he thinks about Marcus Mariota, the first thing on Oregon quarterback Dante Moore’s mind isn’t living up to the precedent set by one of the greatest college football players of all time. Not chasing a Heisman of his own — for which he is one of the preseason favorites — or capturing the elusive trophy that Mariota came so close to in 2015. Those are both goals, to be sure. But Moore admits he wants to follow in Mariota’s footsteps primarily off the field. “I think the biggest thing with him is just how he is in his world outside of football,” Moore said. “With the way he carries himself, the way he loves his family, the way he is as a father. I feel like me, as a man in life, I just get to learn from him. When we’re on the (driving) range together, just watching him hug his daughter and his son.” Follow the link in our bio to read more.
