What if a dog bit a vet doing a vaccine or something? Does the vet legally have to report the bite and have the dog quarantine? My dog is sooo anxious at the vet and does growl sometimes 😭

Please excuse my ignorance, but I genuinely am wondering (and I’m hoping you can educate me)….I live in Australia and rabies is practically unheard of here, especially amongst domesticated animals. Why/how is rabies so prevalent where you are that domestic pets have to be immunized? 😊🌸🇦🇺

You are wrong. My dog jumped on someone and they sued my homeowners insurance. I had to do the 10 day quarantine and register my dog as dangerous. This was for a scratch. This aas first time offense

Last week, one of my friends dogs was barking at the neighbors dog through the fence. The neighbor kicked the fence then reach over it when the dog got more agitated. She ended up getting bitten by my friend‘s dog. The lady admitted she reached over, but was very mad about getting bit. Animal control ended up taking my friend’s dog for quarantine and charging him $100 to get it back. He is trying to figure out if he can make her pay it.

What would be the situation with this scenario: I have a dog who is trained to protect me and the home. A bad person breaks into my home with the intent to rob the home and harm the people living there, and my dog does his job by pursuing the threat and in that conflict, lands a bite. I call the police and they take the bad person into custody. I charge the bad person with whatever charges I can, and they are found to be guilty and end up going to jail. Would that bite still be reported? Obviously if the bad person tried to sue it would probably not be valid since they had malicious intent and were found guilty of a crime, and my dog was protecting itself and the home.

My dog bit someone who climbed my privacy fence. I called the cops because my dog bit his hand....they didn't ask for anything. They did call the owner of the surveying company that has the employee hopping fences and gave them a ticket though.

im in texas. everthing is utd. a racoon got in the yard. dogs killed it. it was positive. i had to hone quarantine my whole ranch for 45 days with state vet check in weekly. it was crazy

My mom got attacked by two dogs while walking her neighborhood. They live outside city limits, nobody claimed the dogs, she had to go through the rabies series. She then had to go to court because the city said she would have to decide the outcome of the dogs or take them. It was a mess.

Is Texas the same where with a home quarantine the dog has to visit the vet for rabies observation 3 times within that 10 days? Here in WI a dog has to visit the vet within 1 day, 5 days and last day and sign off on the form and that has to be turned in to the police as we don’t have animal control.

my old dog bite my house sitters boyfriend. He went into get checked out. I looked up what to expect. My county in Indiana is a 2 week quarantine. No one contacted me until I received a letter from the health dept over 2 weeks later telling us to quarantine her 🙄

My dog attached and bit the electric man that jumped my locked fence into my back yard without first notifying us he needed to enter. I called 911 for a trespasser. I showed proof of my dogs rabies vaccination status and that was the end of it. I was visited in person by the electric company supervisor to apologize. My son was little at the time and in the yard with me when it happened.

My neighbors dog bit my finger off and it was super traumatizing but their dog wasn’t put down or anything and I wouldn’t have wanted it to be but I did sue.

The rules regulations are so confusing UK so no rabies but the bite rule is terrible. It’s not acceptable for a dog to bite depending on location as different rules apply for in the home an out but our main law is all dogs MUST not be out of control in public an biting is out of control
