my employer has a very good parental leave policy for the US. 6-8 weeks of FMLA for birth recovery, then 12 weeks of parental leave that can be used until baby's first birthday. its sad how far behind we are

In Canada we get the option to take 12 months or 18 months. And your partner also gets 5 weeks on top of that.

In sweden mums have a legal right to be home fulltime (and paid!) until baby is 18 months old. After that she also has 480+90 days to be home (paid), AND until Child is 8 years old can choose to work 75%. Also 5 weeks vacation and no maximum sickdays. Sweden takes care of mums ❤️
