First-step pain, burning along the inner heel, bruise-like pain in the center, deep bone pain, and pain at the back of the heel can suggest different diagnoses. These include plantar fasciitis, Baxter’s neuritis, heel fat pad syndrome, a calcaneal stress fracture, and insertional Achilles tendinopathy.
