James :
Administrators don’t show up for potty breaks on demand. They show up to do gotcha observations. We all know this

candyjoylan :
Any responsible adult on the staff should be able to watch a classroom. Sounds like it was designed by a micromanager!

That can’t be a school rule for teachers.

Brian Kohn 827 :
lol, my union would laugh at this. As long as there is a certified teacher, service provider, or admin in the room, it’s legal.

That rule is ridiculous. I’d report them to HR, to whatever union or union-adjacent commodity is available.

I’d file a grievance with the union and HR . Then they should be on text alert .

If all you teachers just start quitting over these dumb ass rules then they will change them once there’s no one to hire

My first comment would be: do I need my union rep for this conversation? Watch them never talk to me again.

Our Superintendent/building administrator tried to sneak this rule into this years teacher handbook. How ridiculous especially when he’s never in the building.

This isn't a union issue, like some people are suggesting. this is a bad employment contract issue that teachers need to stop signing. My next response would be, "should I give you my two weeks now?"

What administrator has time to step into someone’s classroom and watch them? Mine are too busy putting out fires.
