@kaoyga: Honestly they failed all of the teens, but Langa especially. They were so wrapped up in their revenge toward Adam, that they couldn’t acknowledge the damage that he was being done to the their younger counterparts. They saw it but didn’t do anything to stop it. For Cherry it was because he wanted to hang on to who Adam was in the past. Joe knew Adam was not the same person anymore, and he wanted to beat him for that reason. All the while Adam was continuing to abuse people right in front of their faces, like they saw him begin doing in their teens. They recognized that Langa was beginning to endanger himself and be dangerous, possibly following the same path as Adam. They did nothing to stop Adam’s grooming of him. Reki was possibly going down the same path, and at least Joe tried to step in here and tell Reki “never end up alone”. He also protected Reki from Adam after their second beef. I suppose Joe and Cherry’s failure to do smth for Langa was a message of the show. However, I think Adam’s romantic behavior towards Langa maybe wasn’t taken seriously by the writers? Or rather, it was intertwined with skating and the message that skating should be fun and not forced. Or I guess that’s what they’re saying about love, no one should be coerced. Still, the minor x adult thing is not specifically called out? Might be because pedophila is more normalized there.
