When I first started working at [your employer] the strib published some nonprofit leaders’ salaries. Our ceo at the time’s RAISE was more than some of my colleagues’ annual earnings. And if course “we can’t really afford increases for line staff this year” 🫠

we are in a budget deficit... not a large deficit at all compared to the reserves we have and the amount of money it takes to run our association, etc. a remedy my boss proposed was for all staff to begin taking 1-2 unpaid furlough days per month to save on labor costs, but that it would NOT include him taking a furlough day. he makes almost 4 TIMES what I make.

I’ll never forget my first job as a recruiting assistant in the late 90’s…putting together an executive offer letter where their sign on was about $50k and at the time my annual salary was $22,000 😑 Anyway it just had to be play money to me. Only way to survive daily in recruiting! 😂

I work for very large HR Firm, and see lots of salaries from across all industries…..😳 You can easily tell the heart of company when you see the difference in the executive team salary and everyone else’s. Sometimes, I want to send a notice to the employees, to run, run far far way.
