TIPS that helped me recover from anxiety (without medication♥️) 1. Run from any doctor that is trying to give you anxiety medication before checking your bloodwork. Because it very well could be a case where a deficiency is causing your symptoms. 2. Give your anxiety a name. “Buttercup.” A funny name will make it more lighthearted when you’re speaking to it. Let Buttercup know she’s not the boss, YOU are the boss. So when you start getting anxious, you let Buttercup know you’re safe and it doesn’t need to feel this way. Separating it from who you are will help so much - because anxiety is not who you are. 3. Turn off the excess stimulation - you might think distractions are helping, but it’s only making it worse. Get off social media, turn off the tv, stop listening to the next self help podcast. Go outside, breathe in the air, touch some grass, get in Vitamin D. 4. Write your gratitudes every single day. It’s so easy to feel discouraged, to feel like nothing is changing, to get in the ‘woe is me” mindset. But having a strong foundation of gratitudes will override any of that negative energy trying to bring you down. There’s SO much to be grateful - think of five things and write them down every single day. 5. Create a “worry window.” This is the amount of time you allow yourself to be worried about something. This trains your mind to stop overthinking and ruminating all day. If something pops up, schedule it for a time. At 3pm I will give myself 10 minutes to think about that. Move on until then. And odds are, at 3pm that thing you were worried about wasn’t important enough to be worried about by 3pm. #nervoussystem #mentalhealthsupport #healthytips #wellness
