Yes but when this trait is extreme (eg. as with some people with personality disorders), it’s not a ‘choice’ to reframe the narrative, it’s something their psyche will do for them unconsciously. Not arguing with your excellent point or video, but rather the root of the behaviour, and I don’t cite it to encourage over-empathizing with these people either. It’s just a matter of accuracy. When very badly behaved people seem to do this compulsively, it’s because it is indeed compulsive.
