Life hack. Tell the school your kid is a walker. Teach them to walk a block away, where you pick them up. Sincerely, a teacher who’s had crosswalk duty for 10 years

My mom made me walk half a block away so she didn’t have to deal with the crowd. This was like 18 years ago tho. I assume kids are still allowed to walk, right? Have them walk a block away and pick them up

my kids school has a number system. every parent has a #tag on their car and there is a teacher with a tablet puting the # in a IPad and the teachers in the Gym line the kids up in that order. It goes SOOO FAST

Ma’am, as teacher, I would love nothing more than to do that but we have some parents that are gentle and do things like post on Facebook about how their child’s shoes didn’t get tied all day. The child is in 2nd damn grade!!!!!

As a teacher who used to have to do car line in 100 degree weather we hate it too. The beginning of the year is always chaotic but it’s gets smoother by week 2-3 in my experience. But mostly boils down to parents not paying attention when you tell them to pull all the way up. Or flat out refusing to follow directions
