My critical thinking kicked in as a kid every time I watched it and had me thinking why would they split the kids up, and why would two strangers live together because they each have one of the identical twins? Lisa and Ray bickering always triggered those two questions because they annoyed me bad.

I know multiple poor black people that were foster parents & then adopted the kids. They will not allow you to foster the same kid for the duration of their childhood. They give the foster parent the 1st right of refusal to adopt. If they say no, the kids go up for adoption. This stops people from fostering kids as a long term career/income because they know you get attached to those kids.
