If the people, company, financiers and weapons deals he presented were part of a fictitious setup, then serious questions must be asked about the credibility of the entire story being presented to court. And let’s be clear about one important point: General Dr. Kizza Besigye was not in court today to personally hear or respond to this testimony. So before anyone rushes to conclusions, let the evidence be tested properly and let Besigye have his opportunity to respond through the proper legal process. If an alleged plot was built around imaginary people, promises and fabricated arrangements, then where is the independent, credible evidence linking Besigye to treason? This is not about protecting anyone from the law. If there is genuine evidence, let it be presented openly and tested in court. But if allegations are based on a manufactured story, Ugandans deserve to know that too. Justice cannot be built on imagination, assumptions or political narratives.
