It’s not a Virgin Mary statue 🙏 That’s the Archbishop of Catania (Luigi Renna) holding the actual skull of Saint Agatha, the city’s patron saint. The golden figure next to him is her historic reliquary bust (the ornate case that normally holds the skull). This happened during the 900th anniversary celebrations of the return of her relics to Catania (August 2026). Catholics venerate relics of saints as a way of honouring their lives and asking for their intercession — it’s a very old tradition, not something dark or random. Just normal Catholic relic veneration ✨

I genuinely want to know why the Catholic Church worships idols, statues, whatever when in the Bible, it says not to do that. That's the reason why Jesus came to Earth is so we didn't have to do sacrifices or anything like that. Our sins was forgiven through him and him alone. So why does a Catholic Church pray to mother, Mary and not to Jesus? Why do they pray to saints and not God? Another reason I don’t trust the Catholic teachings because some traditions involve the dead. Biblically, we are called to honor the dead by, remember, mourn, and properly bury the dead—not worship them, pray to them, or attempt to communicate with them. Gathering to remember someone who died isn’t worship. But when traditions give the deceased a spiritual role that Scripture reserves for God, I believe we’ve crossed a biblical line. My authority is the Bible—not church tradition.
