I think I must be the only person that doesn't use them for drying plates ect. I only use them to dry my hands while in the kitchen. My plates ect get dried with paper towels as it's more hygienic.

I always wash mine in detergent and a Milton tablet, they come out smelling soo clean

Washing powder is the key with towels, never smell.

Always save up tea towels, cleaning cloths, face cloths etc and do a 60°c hot wash with vinegar and detergent, never have any issues
