The body of 25-year-old Nepali student Laxmi Rajbanshi was found in a river in Fukuoka on August 19, 2026. Police have ruled the case a murder after an autopsy revealed she suffered multiple blunt-force injuries to her head and face. An investigation headquarters has been established as police believe she was killed after leaving her part-time job on the evening of August 18. Discovery and Investigation •The body was discovered by a passerby floating in the Naka River in the Tenjin district of Fukuoka City. •An autopsy confirmed multiple injuries to her head, face, and body, consistent with being struck by a blunt object. •Police found bloodstains at the victim's home and signs of a struggle in her bedroom, leading to the murder investigation. Victim's Last Known Movements •Rajbanshi was last seen leaving her part-time job at a restaurant at approximately 10:30 p.m. on August 18. •Her whereabouts remained unknown after that time until her body was found the following morning.
