lidar is better but cameras cheaper faster and our road system is designed for visual driving only so it makes no sense that lidar would be requiered for self driving

that tesla wasnt actually in self driving mode since that is locked down to special users if u check users with actual access they dested this as well no issues

Forgot to mention that light does pass trough solid objects, depending on thicknesses, algo glass and other transparent plastics exist.
