@bpinews: Hooded men have been filmed apparently throwing incendiary devices towards a fleet of luxury wedding cars outside Royal Shalimar on Highgate Road in Birmingham in a broad-daylight attack. Footage reviewed by BPI News shows several hooded men emerging from the direction of Mole Street before throwing what appear to be Molotov cocktails towards vehicles parked outside the venue. The apparent target was a wedding fleet containing high-value cars including McLarens and Lamborghinis. Footage indicates some of the devices missed the vehicles and instead struck the entrance area of Royal Shalimar, while a black McLaren was set on fire. Children, wedding guests and other people can be seen around the venue during the incident. No injuries have been reported. The attackers were subsequently chased back in the direction of Mole Street. Royal Shalimar, at 238 Highgate Road, is a major Birmingham wedding and events venue. Its own website says its Grand Hall can accommodate up to 850 guests, while its smaller Oval Suite is used for events including Nikkah and Mehndi celebrations. The complex also operates a large buffet restaurant. West Midlands Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses and further footage. The motive for the attack and identities of those responsible have not yet been established. #Birmingham #RoyalShalimar
